Hystar is scaling up and commercializing smart PEM electrolyser technology, originally developed at SINTEF. The technology relies on a highly innovative electrolyser architecture allowing the use of ultrathin membranes without compromising the safety of its operation. Thinner membranes means lower internal electrical resistance, resulting in higher overall efficiencies. The electrolysers of Hystar are not only highly efficient and intrinsically safe, in addition they rely on an existing component supply chain, making it most suitable for future mass production. Hystar’s offices are located near Oslo (Norway).
A lower cost and increased flexibility of green hydrogen production is the key to success when it comes to the role hydrogen has to play in decarbonizing our society.
